About Market 166

Market 166 is a community-owned grocery co-op startup in Southwest Atlanta. We are everyday people who want to support local businesses, create space for community connection, and expand access to nutritious, affordable, and diverse foods.

As a co-op, we operate on a “one member, one vote” system. Members help decide what we stock, how we operate, and who leads us.

While we work toward our full-service grocery store, you can shop at our Mini-Market at Atlanta Utility Works, where every purchase supports local farmers and makers.

Join today with a simple one-time investment and no annual fees. In just a few minutes your household becomes a member-owner for life! We offer a standard $100 share as well as a $20 option to ensure every neighbor has a seat at the table.

Common Questions

Nope! Market 166 is open to everyone and you can shop at Mini-Market today. By joining you help to directly support the opening day of our full-service grocery store and receive additional benefits.

A co-op is a business owned and democratically operated by its members for their mutual benefit, with one member, one vote. Simply put, we answer to our neighbors and make decisions based on what our community actually needs. This structure ensures we prioritize fresh food, local vendors, and fair prices.

You can shop with us today! We are proud to partner with Atlanta Utility Works in East Point to host Mini-Market 166. While we work toward opening our full-service grocery store this location allows us to build community ownership and support local makers right now.

Our permanent brick-and-mortar opening depends on how fast our ownership grows. Each new Member-Owner brings us closer to cutting the ribbon.

Right now you can find us at Mini-Market 166 inside Atlanta Utility Works in East Point! As a co-op, the search for our full-service grocery location will be led by our future Site Selection Committee to ensure neighbors decide our location. Our goal is to find a site that is accessible, central, and meets the needs of our community. Committees are open to all member-owners, learn more on our get involved page.

We will be a full-service grocery store offering everything you need for the week, from fresh produce to pantry staples. We’ll stock a mix of organic and conventional foods, prioritizing local, Black-owned, and underrepresented producers.

Currently at Mini-Market in Atlanta Utility works you can find more of our specialty local items including  local honey, pecans, pickles, and coffee.
